Heather Spilkin is an award-winning writer, TV producer, editor, and filmmaker. Her producing and editing work includes programming for ABC, Food Network, Bravo, History, A&E, Lifetime, Travel, and TLC. She has enjoyed a long running stint of both editing and producing for Food Network’s highly rated cooking series Worst Cooks in America, where she crafts contestant storylines and writes jokes for comedic cooking segments.
Heather’s films have screened at festivals across the country and at iconic NYC institutions such as Rooftop Films and Anthology Film Archives. As a writer and director, she creates wacky comedies that delve into the worlds of eccentric outsiders, obsessive hobbyists, and women who don’t play by the rules. Her web series pilot Breaking and Entering won Best Web Series at World Web Fest Mania, Best Web Series Episode at Portland Comedy Film Fest, Best Short at Glass Ceiling Breakers Film Fest, and Best Director at the NYWIFT Shorts Festival. She also produced and directed the feature documentary Above Brooklyn, which premiered to a sold-out crowd at the Rooftop Films Series.
Heather is a writer on Party Trick, Magnet Theater's house sketch team that has performed at festivals across the country, including SF Sketchfest. She’s currently developing a true crime mockumentary pilot that involves mischief, mayhem, and zoo animals.
